Depletion of natural resources is one of the most important issues in many parts of the world. Resources, such as fossil fuels, forests, and fresh water are being used at a fast rate. This can lead to several problems. However, some measures can be taken to solve these issues.

The excessive consumption of natural resources can pose some environmental threats. Deforestation resulting from cutting down trees without planting saplings can lead to the extinction of some animals. For example, marsupials, such as kangaroos live in forests. When forests disappear, they have no place to live in. As a result, they might go extinct or their numbers might decrease.

Excessive fossil fuel use is another problem. The more fossil fuels are burnt, the more carbon dioxide is released into the air. This can lead to global warming, which can cause a rise in sea levels or flooding in cities. Furthermore, carbon emissions are detrimental to people's health and can cause respiratory diseases, including asthma and lung cancer.

To put an end to deforestation, the government should impose strict laws. The government should set quotas for the number of trees logging companies can cut each month and each of these companies should plant saplings.

Moving from fossil fuels to renewable sources of energy can reduce carbon footprints. Instead of using oil and petrol to produce energy, solar panels and wind turbines should be used. For instance, electric vehicles can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide to a great extent.

In conclusion, in my opinion, putting some species at the risk of extinction, air pollution and global warming are some of the problems that overuse of natural resources can cause. Government regulation and promoting the use of green energies are some of the solutions to the aforementioned problems.
