Nurturing children is of high importance. Anti-social behaviours, including littering in public places is becoming more common among the new generations.

There are some clear reasons for such behaviours. A lack of parental supervision and guidance is one reason. Nowadays, due to rising costs in many countries, many families, both parents have to work for long hours. Consequently, they do not have enough time to nurture their children and teach them social values, including respecting other people. The impact of social media can be another reason. Social media platforms, especially Instagram, display content that promotes anti-social behaviour, things such as bullying and vandalism, and spitting in public places. Constant exposure to such content can make people become used to them and consider these behaviours normal.

However, some measures can be taken to solve anti-social problems. To solve the problem regarding parenting, the government can take action by offering flexible working hours or remote working for parents who both work. Consequently, one of the parents has more time to teach their children social values. Furthermore, parents should monitor their children's screen time and deter them from watching content that can promote anti-social behaviour. There are also applications, especially designed for parental monitoring which can be used for this purpose.

In conclusion, the impact of social media and busy parents who do not have time for their children are two reasons why some young people display anti-social behaviours. More flexible working hours and remote work, offered by the government and more monitoring by parents can mitigate these behaviours.
