There are some clear reasons why more young people commit crimes these days. One major reason is a lack of parental supervision. Nowadays, in many families, both parents are employed outside for long hours due the inflation and the fact that more women are educated these days. After work, parents feel exhausted and they do not have enough time to nurture their children properly. The impact of social media is another cause. In social media platforms, such as Instagram, young people are exposed to violent content and consequently they might imitate those violent behaviours and commit crimes.
However, some actions can be taken to solve this issue. The government can offer flexible working hours or remote work to parents who are both employed. This means that one of the parents can spend more time with their children and show them the right and wrong at a very young age. To address the problem of social media both parents and the government can take action. Parents can monitor their children' screen time by installing applications on their children's phones to block and filter violent content that can encourage violence. Regarding the government, it can impose laws to stop people from posting violent content on social media platforms. If anyone breaks the law, they must face legal consequences. For instance, people who share violent content on the internet must be fined.
In conclusion, the lack of parental supervision and the impact of social media are two main reasons for the rise in crime rate amongst young people. By offering flexible working hours and remote work by the government and increasing parental supervision, this issue can be mitigated.
