The proposition whether the major environmental issue today’s world is climate change or plastic pollution sparked considerable debate. This essay will delve into the potential drawbacks and silent benefits of both points of view.

On the one hand, exacerbation of the greenhouse effect led to global warming. Consequently, ice melting, soil pollution, water acidification are clearly ubiquitously seen. All of them cause the climate change. This triggers a ripple effect on our planet and renders vast areas uninhabitable. By virtue of large changes around the world , the governments should incur costs for renewable energy and find a solution to achieve the overarching goal-stopping climate change. Otherwise, the new generation will survive awfully. Another crucial point is that plastic pollution has likewise a profound effect on climate change, because it pollutes both water and air. Thus, it is a part of climate change. Given this circumstances, a current problem will become more pivotal.

In the other hand, critics other voice concerns regarding wide spread plastic pollution. As claimed by statistics, the share of plastic in forests or in water has sharply soared during last year. The plastic has also a huge impact on our environment. As a case in point, in India or China , where a plethora of factories are located, the quality of life is relative low, since the majority of plastic constitutes roughly 40% of production. In addition, it can be not always recycled. Furthermore, 1,5-2 million animals die yearly on the grounds of plastic pollution. More and more the world population increases and the consumption also growth. Agriculture has a prominent role to satisfy our basic needs. Without animals or plants, our nutrition is barely imaginable.

In conclusion, while acknowledging the potential issues with plastic pollution, I firmly believe that disadvantages of climate changes prevail, because plastic pollution is a part of general climate changes. In my opinion, it would be great, if the government could sensitise the public on this issue. It offers unparalleled opportunities to re-evaluate our behaviour in environment. Without finding a solution, a lot of regions will be inhabitable.
