The essay presents a clear disagreement with the notion that planning for the future is a waste of time, arguing instead for its benefits in providing direction, motivation, and preparedness for uncertainties. The response is relevant to the question and maintains a formal tone suitable for academic writing. Many people plan for their future. However, some are convinced that planning is just a waste of time and therefore it is a better idea to enjoy and focus on the present. I completely disagree with this idea, since planning is so beneficial.

Planning can give people directions in their lives. When people know what they have to pursue, they feel more motivated. Consequently, they try as hard as they can and are more likely to become successful in their careers. Another benefit of planning is avoiding wasting time. Planning allows people to know what they have to do at different time of the day, which in turn can lead to a balance between work and life. Planning helps people to be organized and since they prioritise tasks, they can juggle work or study with life. For example, a student who uses a planning application, such as to-do list, can do their homework, and still have time for leisure activities, including playing video games or football with their peers.

Planning for the future enables people to be well-prepared for contingencies in life. Life is full of surprises and uncertainties. For example, in the future we might be fired from a firm, and if we are not planned for such unpredictable situations by saving money, we might face financial problems.

In conclusion, in my opinion, planning can make people feel motivated and more likely to be successful. In addition, it can avoid wasting time and lead to a work-life balance. Preparing for uncertainties in life is another advantage. Thus, I completely disagree that planning is a waste of time.
