To commence with, humans are altering the environment around them according to their convenience, making it difficult for animals and plants to survive. When human artificially transform the environment they destroy vegetation and animals natural habitat. For instance, to build new roads, people are cutting down the trees and cementing the soil, altering the environment and because of that a lot of species are dying out. On top of it, pollution is making it difficult for animals and plants to grow and reproduce. Some chemical changes caused by the pollution alter the life-cycle and the reproduction systems of living organisms. As a result, they failed to produce the next generation. According to a recent report by Ministry of India, 338 bird species in India have experienced 60% decline in population due to urbanisation, environmental contamination, and escalating consequences of climate change caused by human activities.
Nonetheless, a collaborative human effort can help to ameliorate the situation of habitat loss. As some protecting areas where human activity is limited can be created to stop overexploitation of resources which can be the best way to save the environment and prevent species from dying out. Moreover, the next step in fighting biodiversity loss is informing the journal population about the dangers of this problem. This way people will be more conscious to environment and would not over use or destroy its resources and will try to reduce their carbon footprint. Children from young age can also be taught to respect animal and plant life and contribute towards the betterment of these living species.
In conclusion, reckless human actions or causing the death of many species on the planet. Being on the top of food chain, make humans responsible for the protection of the other species.
